Changing European Union emission legislations, designed to reduce potentially harmful vehicle exhaust emissions, is resulting in new engine designs and aftertreatment systems being introduced by OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer).
The introduction of these new emission legislations - called Euro 4 and 5 - resulted in the usage of new advanced after-treatment systems such as diesel particulate filters (DPF).
These systems required a new generation of oils called “lower SAPS” engine oils (the ACEA C-series), which provide increased compatibility with aftertreatment systems and are essential to maintain the emission compliance of the vehicle. (*Low SAPS oils = oils that have a lower level of Sulphated Ash, Phosphorus and Sulphur).
Champion Emission System Protection is the new name given for this new generation of lubricants. Our range meets the most stringent norms set by the car manufacturers.
